AIM
To promote the development of young people in achieving their full
physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible
citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
METHOD
The method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing
an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and
Law guided by adult Leadership.
This is further expanded through the progressive training
programme, for the age related child / youth sections of Beaver Scouts (6-8 years), Cub
Scouts (8-10
½ years), Scouts (10
½-14 years), Explorer Scouts (14 - 18) and Scout Network (18 - 25).
Scout
Groups in the local community are supported by Scout Districts who in turn are supported
by a Scout County. LCVYS serves two Scout Counties: East
Lancashire and West Lancashire.
The Scout
Association has policies for Child Protection and Equal Opportunities details of which can
be found in the Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR) that gives guidance and
information relevant to The Scout Association.
Various
activity centres are owned by the two Scout Counties across Lancashire and further afield,
details of which are available from the relevant County Offices (see below).
