| The club was formed in 2001 and aims to encourage young
people from the deprived areas of Preston to learn to play various sports,
in particular cricket, football and tennis. The club also uses sport to enable young people to develop socially. The club organises coaching sessions in the winter months and has entered teams in the Preston indoor 6 a side cricket league and Preston Sports Development mini soccer under 11s league. Coaching is provided by qualified coaches who have a wealth of experience between them. The club plans to double its membership in the coming year and will be starting a campaign to get more girls to play cricket. In recognition of the good work of the club, Lancashire Sport awarded Red Rose Sports Club the title of Community Club of the Year 2004 for Preston Anyone interested in joining the club to either participate or qualify as a coach should contact Siraz Natha on 01772 558514
