AIM

To work as part of the community to meet the needs of all members of the community, particularly the young and vulnerable.

OBJECTIVES

To offer a drop in centre for all members of the community
To offer a confidential range of services from fully trained staff and volunteers
To encourage all members of the community to be active in local issues
To provide the opportunity for the local community to be involved in INTAG
To provide emotional support to clients using our services
To provide support to families experiencing difficulties
To liaise with and refer clients to other agencies where appropriate.

OTHER INFORMATION

Some details of the work and involvement with young people include:

Work in conjunction with the Youth and Community Centre to develop the social education of the young people in the area
Regular meetings with local schools and churches, the Youth and Community Centre to discuss the provision of facilities to help young people mature physically and emotionally
In conjunction with Careerlink the provision of a careers service at INTAG for 16-18 year olds. Also identifying young people experiencing problems at school or who have been socially excluded.
In conjunction with Careerlink working on the NewStart project to provide disadvantaged and socially excluded children with the necessary skills to re-enter into education.
Thursday Drop-In for young people under 25’s, 1.30 – 4.00 pm, to discuss issues around sexual, mental, physical health in partnership with Drugline.
