MISSION
STATEMENT
BROOK is a professional non-profit making organisation for young
people up to the age of 25. It exists to
enable all young people to make informed choice about their personal and sexual
relationships so that they can enjoy their sexuality without harm.
Brook in Blackburn offers 3
services:
Clinic
The clinic is located in the town centre and is open 6 days per week. Staffed by
experienced doctors and nurses, the clinic offers contraception (Including
emergency contraception), pregnancy testing, infection testing and sexual health
advice.
Counselling
Counselling is offered on any issue, not just on sex and relationships.
Counsellors are qualified and work to professional codes of ethics.
Education
Work with young people in a range of formal and informal settings to increase
knowledge of sexual health & contraception and to develop relationships skills
and self esteem. Training for those working with young people on issues around
teenage sexuality.
